Nicole Black With 4 Handy Tech Gadgets for the Traveling Lawyer

If you travel often, you know theres nothing worse than finding yourself stuck in a hotel room or an airport without the necessary equipment. So from one traveling attorney to another, here are some of the most-used technology gadgets that I rely on when on the road.

First, a few gadgets to help make your travel experience more ergonomic and convenient.

As far as Im concerned, it is incredibly important to have a good portable laptop stand so that you wont strain your neck while on the road. My favorite one is the Aidata LHA-3 LAPstand Aluminum Portable Laptop Standwhich retails for $38.99. Its incredibly versatile, allowing you to view your laptop at multiple angles and is very lightweight at only 1.8 pounds.

Next, avoid wrist pain and dump the clunky mouse. Instead, switch to the Wacom Bamboo pen and tablet, which retails for only $49.99. I love this device since it allows me to use a pen-like tool to navigate the Web, thus saving my wrist from untold amounts of discomfort. Plus, its quite thin and light and is a breeze to travel withjust slide it into your bag next to your laptop. And as an added bonus, it can be used to annotate documents or create sketches, if youre so inclined.

Next up, a portable keyboard. I prefer Apples Wireless Keyboard, which costs $69, because its full-sized, lightweight and very thin. It takes up very little space in your laptop bag and can be used with both your laptop and tablet.

And last but not least, consider investing in a Kensington Absolute Power Charger, which costs $92.94. With this device, youll never find yourself in a hotel room or airport desperately searching for more than one free outlet so that you can charge more than one device at a time. Instead, just plug in this charger and charge your laptop and two mobile devices simultaneously. While not a cheap tool, its an invaluable one that will no doubt get a lot of use.

So there you have it! Some of my favorite technology travel gear. Anything youd add to this list? If so, let me know in the comments!
